Employees from MWA member institutions who are responsible for promoting young researchers exchange ideas in the task force Young Science. Events for young researchers are organized jointly.
Science Slam
The curtain rises for your science!
on Thursday, 12th September 2024
at 7 pm
at the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz
Take part in our science party and give an entertaining 10-minute presentation on your topic and your field.
The prize is the unique opportunity to slam at the FORTHEM Researcher Grand Prix on 6th November 2024 in Agder/Norway - including coaching and travel!
Never taken part in a slam before? No problem! In a preparation workshop on 21st August 2024 you will learn everything you need from professionals: storytelling, body language, media use, audience interaction and all the tips and tricks about the slam.
As a doctoral candidate or postdoc from Mainz, you are cordially invited to apply as a slammer by 7th July 2024.
Information for applicants:
After the application deadline, the Task Force Young Science will make a pre-selection of the slammers. You will receive feedback from us in mid-July as to whether you have been shortlisted. Please keep the dates for the Science Slam and the workshop free until then. After the workshop, we will decide together with the trainers which slammers will perform on 12th September 2024.
